construction Project updates

Plan approved by the city!

We are excited to announce that the city council has fully approved our rezoning application on Tuesday, July 19th. We are now moving on in to the next frontier of this project. Stay tuned for the next update!

Vedic temple plan submitted to the city!

As mentioned in our previous communication, the ISKCON Naperville team began the process of planning for rezoning a few months ago which required the completion of quite a bit of civil engineering and other paperwork. We are now happy to inform you that the rezoning paper work has been completed and submitted! We will be sending you periodic updates on the outcome as and when they become available.

Parallel to completion and submission of the rezoning papers, our team of architects and engineers have been collaborating with a group of experienced temple architects who are expert in temple architecture, Vedic embellishments, the science of Vedic vastu, etc. Together they have been working on producing both internal layout diagrams as well as beautiful external 3D renderings, both of which we will be sharing with you very soon! Please wait to hear back from us soon with exciting new updates!

A gift for the generations …

New! Vedic Temple Project Blog

ISKCON Naperville is expanding! We have begun fundraising with the goal of establishing a larger kitchen, a new community hall for the congregation, and ultimately a brand new Vedic Krsna Temple to facilitate the worship of our growing community. To keep you well informed about our progress toward this goal we will be sending you periodic updates letting you know about new developments and milestones that we have reached.

So far we have collected $110,000 toward our goal, thanks to your continued support and backing of this project.

In an effort to progress closer to our goal we have begun planning rezoning of our temple property from RIA (Low density single family residence district) to OCI (Office, commercial and institutional district). Along with the application, the city requires submission of a number of documents and we are currently in the process of preparing those documents. After the complete review of the application with all the documents, the City council will hold a public hearing. Upon all clearances the property will be rezoned and we will then be allowed to start construction.
