Phase-2: Beginning construction!

We are pleased to inform you that the construction for Phase 2 of the new temple will commence on April 21, 2021! We have received all the required permits for the construction.

We will be posting the latest updates regularly here. Stay tuned!

Temple construction phase-1 update (Parking lot, water, gas pipeline)

ISKCON Naperville had begun its site work with full force in mid-June 2018. We are pleased to inform you that 90% of this first phase of work will be completed by November 2018.

We have created 131 parking spaces by creative civil engineering work thereby meeting city requirements without going for variance. City water has been brought to ISKCON Naperville center and water connection has been made to the existing building. The old well is getting shut down by the county. New sewer system work has been successfully completed. Awaiting the upcoming Krishna temple, the new upgraded transformer work has been completed. The existing gas line has been moved deeper and preliminary work for future upgrade has been put in place. Final grading work for landscaping is getting done so that planting can happen early spring next year. All the old trees were removed in the beginning of site preparation and new ones will be planted as per city requirements. Currently retention wall is being built on the creek side and the fence work on it will be accomplished by next week. New sign for the center is also under process.
Two BMP (Best Management Practice) areas have been created and arrangements have been made for its maintenance and reporting to the Du page county for next three years. Vittala Brick project with benefactor names around the circular drive way is under preparation. In order to facilitate public participation and to be a part of the new Krishna temple, we started a very affordable program for the community called “Vittala Brick Program”. To participate in this once in a life time opportunity and to engrave your name on the bricks please visit

As promised, by Krishna’s Grace and with all your cooperation, we are able to finish the first phase of the site work within 5 month time period. We would like to thank you for your continuous support. For further information on the new temple project, please visit and for media inquiries, please email [email protected]

Temple construction update

Our fully formed construction team now consists of Architects, Civil Engineers and Structural Engineers. The kitchen layout has been completed with the help of a commercial kitchen planner to meet the needs of the future temple. Our team members have well addressed and mitigated various challenges related to foundation, soil condition, water table, wet land, storm water etc. to receive the City and County approvals. While the city approval has been received, we are awaiting the county approval at the time of this writing. With Krishna’s blessing and your prayers we hope to begin construction this summer.

Plan approved by the city!

We are excited to announce that the city council has fully approved our rezoning application on Tuesday, July 19th. We are now moving on in to the next frontier of this project. Stay tuned for the next update!

Vedic temple plan submitted to the city!

As mentioned in our previous communication, the ISKCON Naperville team began the process of planning for rezoning a few months ago which required the completion of quite a bit of civil engineering and other paperwork. We are now happy to inform you that the rezoning paper work has been completed and submitted! We will be sending you periodic updates on the outcome as and when they become available.

Parallel to completion and submission of the rezoning papers, our team of architects and engineers have been collaborating with a group of experienced temple architects who are expert in temple architecture, Vedic embellishments, the science of Vedic vastu, etc. Together they have been working on producing both internal layout diagrams as well as beautiful external 3D renderings, both of which we will be sharing with you very soon! Please wait to hear back from us soon with exciting new updates!

New! Vedic Temple Project Blog

ISKCON Naperville is expanding! We have begun fundraising with the goal of establishing a larger kitchen, a new community hall for the congregation, and ultimately a brand new Vedic Krsna Temple to facilitate the worship of our growing community. To keep you well informed about our progress toward this goal we will be sending you periodic updates letting you know about new developments and milestones that we have reached.

So far we have collected $110,000 toward our goal, thanks to your continued support and backing of this project.

In an effort to progress closer to our goal we have begun planning rezoning of our temple property from RIA (Low density single family residence district) to OCI (Office, commercial and institutional district). Along with the application, the city requires submission of a number of documents and we are currently in the process of preparing those documents. After the complete review of the application with all the documents, the City council will hold a public hearing. Upon all clearances the property will be rezoned and we will then be allowed to start construction.
